Because of how Christmas and New Years fell on the calendar this year, I think many people took the week off and went on vacation. However, the staff here at Lakeshore RV Center has been hard at work delivering incredible deals on new RVs, closing out 2010 on a high note and ramping up to make 2011 our best year yet.
If you were lucky enough to take this last week off, heading back to work may be a bit of a shock to the system. For today’s post, I thought I would keep things fun, funky and fresh to help you ease back into the work week with a smile on your face and thinking about your RV plans for the new year. Here are some quotes from the famous on camping that I have gleaned from the web. Enjoy!
“Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong.” George Carlin
“I’m really an outdoorsy girl. People think I can’t go anywhere without getting all primped up, but I love to go camping, and I’m totally fine with not doing my hair or makeup, not taking a shower and just hiking.” Vanessa Hudgens
“Camping is nature’s way of promoting the motel business.” Dave Barry
“Is that weird, taking my Louis Vuitton bag camping?” Jessica Simpson
“When I was younger, my family would go camping and fishing on our ranches. My dad loves being around all kinds of animals. He’s the one who got me to be a really big animal lover.” Paris Hilton
“Another thing I like to do is sit back and take in nature. To look at the birds, listen to their singing, go hiking, camping and jogging and running, walking along the beach, playing games and sometimes being alone with the great outdoors. It’s very special to me.” Larry Wilcox
“What I like about camping is you can get really dirty. Either you’re all by yourself, so no one else sees you, or everyone you’re with is just as dirty as you are, so nobody cares.” Anonymous former Boy Scout
“How hard to realize that every camp of men or beast has this glorious starry firmament for a roof! In such places standing alone on the mountain-top it is easy to realize that whatever special nests we make – leaves and moss like the marmots and birds, or tents or piled stone – we all dwell in a house of one room – the world with the firmament for its roof – and are sailing the celestial spaces without leaving any track.” John Muir
“How is it that one match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to start a campfire?” Christy Whitehead
“Campers: Nature’s way of feeding mosquitoes.” Author Unknown
“I got into an argument with a girlfriend inside of a tent. That’s a bad place for an argument, because then I tried to walk out and slammed the flap. How are you supposed to express your anger in this situation? Zipper it up really quick?” Mitch Hedberg
And my quote of the day:
“Camping in the outdoors with the smell of the earth all around you, surrounded by the people you love the most, well, there is no better feeling, no better time. You really appreciate everything all in that one moment.” SJ Ciezak
On that note, thank you for reading and on behalf of myself and the staff here at Lakeshore RV Center, we hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
