But before you hitch it up and pull out of your driveway, check out these fifth wheel hitch accessories that make hitch install easy while also protecting you and your investment from possible damage or a bumpy ride that leaves you sore and tired. Rail Kit

A rail and installation kit is a must-have for a fifth wheel, as this is how you install your trailer hitch into the bed of your truck. This Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5^th Wheel Trailer Hitches includes the brackets, base rails, and all hardware needed for installation. The vehicle-specific brackets mount to existing holes in your truck's frame which minimizes drilling, measuring, and install time compared to a universal bracket system. This system is compatible with the following hitches: Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley, and Husky. Not compatible with: Reese Elite Series (Signature Series) or Valley USB hitches.

A Lift Kit

If you're concerned about the amount of clearance between the bed of your truck and your fifth wheel, then consider investing in a PullRite 3" SuperGlide Lift Kit to create some wiggle room. This lift kit acts by raising the height of the hitch in the bed of the truck. This accessory is especially helpful if towing with a newer truck that has a shorter, but deeper, bed.
