Owned and operated by the City of Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department, Camp Dearborn offers family fun just a stone’s throw from one of the country’s best historical museums, the Henry Ford Museum. Located in Milford, Michigan, just 44 miles northwest of Detroit, it was opened on May 29, 1948, under the leadership of Mayor Orville L. Hubbard. It sits on 626 acres of rolling hills, trees, and lakes, making for a beautiful and peaceful getaway.
Camp Dearborn is the perfect spot for campers interested in exploring southeast Michigan and its many attractions. It is close to some of Michigan’s greatest historical, educational, and sports attractions.
Camp Dearborn offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including a half-mile swimming beach, acres of shaded picnic sites, fishing, paddle boat rentals, the 27-hole Mystic Creek Golf Course, mini golf, and much more.
There is plenty of room inside Camp Dearborn for tents and RVs on 191 sites (including a section for permanent trailers) and in 118 permanent tents and 30 cabins (see below). The camp offers 95 sites with electricity and 96 sites with full hook up (20-50 amp service). Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and a fire pit.
Tent Village, inside Camp Dearborn, offers permanent camping in the form of 118 tents and 30 rustic cabins. Each unit is constructed on a cement base and furnished with six cots, a cupboard containing a refrigerator, an electric cook-top, electricity, a charcoal grill, and a covered patio area with a picnic table and bench.
If you’re looking for a venue for a more private indoor event, the Chalet at Camp Dearborn offers a kitchenette, restrooms, tables, and chairs for up to 80 people.
The camp’s modern restroom facilities feature hot showers, outdoor dishwashing sinks, and a Laundromat.
On a hot summer day, campers can enjoy the private beach and swimming lake or the heated pool with a furnished lounging deck. Additionally, the campground offers modern comfort stations and a Laundromat.

Dearborn was home to Henry Ford and here you can tour the Fairlane Mansion, home of Henry Ford and Clara Bryant Ford.
Don’t leave your furry friend at home! Camp Dearborn allows pets during the off-season (Sept. 3-May 23) at all temporary campsites as well as on designated pet-friendly temporary campsites during our summer season. Make sure to clean up after your pet and keep him on a leash to be courteous to other campers.

While Camp Dearborn is a family-oriented campground, alcohol is permitted and daily visitors are allowed inside the grounds. Nights can become loud and not suitable for young children at times.
