Ready or not, but Christmas season is upon us and for many people, it is the time of year that most gather together with family and friends. I suspect that many of you don’t have family that lives as close to you as mine do, so I would guess that you will be doing some traveling to spend this holiday with your loved ones.
If you are in the majority of Americans traveling over the holidays, have you thought to spend the holidays in your RV? Here’s a few different ways you can put your RV to good use or enjoy it yourself this Christmas.
There are many families out there who travel great distances to be with friends and relatives and find that once they reach their destination, there may not be as many bedrooms as needed. If you are a travel trailer or fifth wheel owner, why not set up your RV in the driveway for your guests? Many RVs on the market today such as Cougar RVs come with Polar Packages that make them quite comfortable to camp in during the winter. Or if you are the one traveling and you own a Polar Package equipped travel trailer or 5th wheel, why not bring it with you? Just as long as you don’t act like Cousin Eddie, it’s a great excuse to get one more memorable weekend in your RV before it goes into storage for the winter. Not only will you be able to enjoy the comforts of home, but you can also be very close to the ones you love.
Wherever the destination, if you are lucky enough to be able camp in an RV over the Christmas holidays, have you thought to decorate? As spacious as RVs are now, there’s always room for a little Christmas tree that you can put up, decorate and still have room for your family’s gifts beneath. If you were sharing a camping adventure with your family over Christmas, how exciting would it be for your children to wake up Christmas morning with their own Christmas tree, knowing Santa found them even while they were far away from home!
Myself, I have never had the opportunity to camp over Christmas, but I think it would be a lot of fun. The way I see it, RV camping and Christmas has the potential to be a vacation and holiday all wrapped into one. Why not start a yearly tradition? I can only imagine how fun and unique the family memories would be on your RV holiday!
So this year, if you are undecided as to what hotel to stay in, where you are going to sleep, or who gets which bedroom in mom and dad’s house, give my suggestions a shot and who knows, it may just be the Christmas Holiday you’ve always wanted.
Wherever you, your family and your RV are over the holidays, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Until next time, this is SJ from Lakeshore RV signing off.
