Insuring your RV in Alaska

In Alaska, you must carry RV insurance if your RV is motorized and you can drive it down the road. In this case, you would need to carry liability insurance. You will also need to add insurance if you have a loan for your RV, rent your RV out when you’re not using it or live full time in your RV as your home. If your RV is towable, such as a fifth wheel or travel trailer, you’re not required to carry a separate insurance policy on your RV. The liability insurance of your tow vehicle will be extended to your towable RV. If you own a towable RV outright with no financing, you will not be required to carry RV insurance. Liability insurance covers damages from an accident that injures other people or damages property. RV drivers can also choose to carry additional coverage to ensure their investment is protected.
