Campfire Kabobs

Campfire Kabobs

Hey there fellow campers! I hope you are easing into the winter months and if you are able to camp this time of year, I hope your destination is warmer than Michigan! On behalf of the staff here at Lakeshore RV Center, we hope your travels are going well and we hope you are enjoying your destination.

With winter setting in, I wanted to share a recipe that will help warm you up fast in this installment of Campfire Cooking. I have found this Campfire Kabob recipe and thought it sounded pretty good and could easily be prepared quickly over a good camp fire.

Campfire Kabobs

Supplies you will need:

Canned lunch meat - ham or turkey will work best.
Canned whole sweet potatoes
2 Cups canned pineapple cubes (My favorite!)
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/2 Cup Orange juice
1/4 Cup vinegar
1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
Kabob skewers - wood or metal
Sharp knife and a cutting board

  • Begin by combining brown sugar, orange juice, vinegar and yellow mustard into a saucepan and cook over the fire for about 10 minutes.

  • Next, cut the lunch meat into 1 1/2 inch chunks.

  • Thread the meat onto the skewers along with the whole canned sweet potatoes and pineapple cubes.

  • Cook over the fire for about 10 minutes, continually coating the kabob with the sauce.

I hope you enjoyed the campfire recipe! What other simple recipes are favorites around your camp site? Please share below, I'd love to hear from you.  Until next time, Good Eating and Happy Camping!
